just realised ...

well, it's been a whole year and a day since the last post, not planned, nor very blogger like, no prizes coming this way for commitment to the blog cause ...is anyone still out there?

well, heres the latest (late) news - sabre 'one man jettison / boundary pt.1 (afterthought)// decorum' splashed down just before xmas 2009 on a lovely black with white streak vinyl edition of 500, and is now stealthily in stores with a black vinyl run of a further 500 copies. might be an idea to snap these up as the prices on discogs for the darkestral back catalogue are rising by the day, and who said vinyl was dead, it's looking like a sound investment in uncertain times ...

sabres beautiful music introduced a new project called darkestral excursions, which is meant for a more soundtrack oriented vibe, deep music that takes you away into inner/outer space and we couldnt have asked for a better introduction, such emotive stringwork set the tone perfectly for what will follow .. which leads us to;

feb 8 2010 (the year of the future in an arthur c. clarkian sense, will it promise what we hoped it to be?) and the second excursion will be jettisoned, this time from consequence, a highly talented new zealander, fresh from a debut album on dbridge's exit records

dreadtone and timeloss are, by us, described as dread-step, a heavy gravity, stripped down, gaseous, futurised upgrade of our beloved mid 90's tech-step .. more energy drained from the blueprint and molasses like textures oozing from the grooves

on the stated date, 500 white with black streaked vinyls appear in stores worldwide, for example;

we will be undertaking a more regular series of releases this year, with another project beginning as the next release with pearson sound 'down with you / higher' opening the account of darkestral galaxicos in the near future, further releases are planned across the group, details when the time is right

for now, the ears are being opened to something called saturnalian voodoo funk?
